We’ve invited state legislative representatives and local legal experts to report on Illinois
and Federal pending legislation, court and other legal decisions for 2018.

John Curran – The honorable Illinois State Senator and former Vice Chairman of the DuPage County Board will speak on the topic of legislative trends in Springfield: What has happened over the past year that has impacted Illinois public employers? Who are the major players and what are their agendas? Senator Curran will discuss the state of politics and share his knowledge on the spring legislative session in Springfield.
Jim Powers – Labor relations and employment law attorney for Clark Baird Smith, LLP. Jim will share his take on recent legislative changes impacting public sector employers, and what he expects going forward. He will discuss the challenges we may anticipate on a state and national level based on recent trends, regulations, decisions and legislation.
Brad Cole - Executive Director of the Illinois Municipal League, which is the statewide association of Illinois' 1,298 cities, villages and towns. The League's mission is to articulate, defend, maintain, and promote the interests and concerns of Illinois communities. Mr. Cole will discuss legislative activities by the Illinois General Assembly, the role of the Illinois Municipal League, and the potential impact current legislative activities may have on employers.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and received by June 15, 2018 to qualify for a refund. An administrative fee based on current per person costs may be deducted. Cancellations received after June 15, 2018 are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
