Conducting PEDA/PSEBA Hearings

Please join Yvette Heintzelman for an informative session that will discuss the benefits of establishing a hearing procedure to address a request for benefits under the Public Safety Employee Benefits Act after a disability pension is awarded. The program will address best practices for the hearing process as well as how to proactively manage a situation that may result in a PSEBA application.

Yvette and her panel of HR experts will discuss from initial incident, through investigation, case preparation and presentation in PEDA and PSEBA formal hearing processes. The panelists will also discuss issues arising under workers compensation, FMLA and disability/pension processes. 

Take away actual examples to help you establish your own formal hearing process. The panelists will discuss the importance of developing your case from the initial injury or illness and the importance of intervening in the pension process.


SPEAKER:
Yvette Heintzelman is a founding partner of Clark Baird Smith LLP. She has extensive experience managing injured worker issues that require the ability to reconcile workers compensation, FMLA and ADA issues. She provides customized training concerning current employment and labor issues to educate and enable individuals to proactively address personnel matters and to establish best practices and policies designed to minimize the risk of litigation. She is admitted to the CA, IL, and WI bar.

  • $85 Non-Members 

*Organizational Associates of Members are other employees of the same employer as a current IPELRA member.

Member registrants will be entered into a drawing for a free 2018 Annual Conference Registration on 9/18/18 (winner need not be present at drawing).

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and received by September 11, 2018 to qualify for a refund. An administrative fee based on current per person costs may be deducted. Cancellations received after September 11, 2018 are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
