John Curran – The honorable Illinois State Senator and former Vice Chairman of the DuPage County Board will speak on the topic of legislative trends in Springfield: What has happened over the past year that has impacted Illinois public employers? Who are the major players and what are their agendas? Senator Curran will discuss the state of politics and share his knowledge on the veto session in Springfield.
John Power – Partner at Power & Cronin, LTD, is an expert on workers’ compensation and has served on several important committees, both nationally and here in Illinois. Mr. Power was appointed to the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission’s Rules Committee from 2009 to 2011, and again from 2015 to 2016; and also has advised the Illinois Republican Senate on Workers’ Compensation. He will speak about recent Workers’ Compensation
decisions and the future of Workers’ Compensation reform, and related topics which are of great concern to public employers.
Jim Powers – Labor relations and employment law attorney for Clark Baird Smith, LLP. Jim will share his take on recent legislative changes impacting public sector employers, and what he expects ahead in 2018. He will discuss the challenges we may anticipate on a state and national level based on recent trends, regulations, decisions and legislation.

An administrative fee based on current per person costs may be deducted. Cancellations received after December 1, 2017 are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
